Apple Blackberry Crumble
Ingredients
Fruit Filling
- 5 cups apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 cups blackberries (fresh or frozen)
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- Zest of 1 lemon
Crumble Topping
- 1⅓ cups flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 7 tbsp cold butter, cubed
- ½ cup brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease an 8×12 baking dish.
In a bowl, toss together the apples, blackberries, sugar, spices, and lemon zest.
Spread the fruit mixture evenly in the baking dish.In a separate mixing bowl, rub the cold butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
Stir in the oats, brown sugar, spices, and salt.
Scatter the crumble topping evenly over the fruit.
Bake 35–40 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the fruit is bubbling.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
