Chai Pear Crumble Tart
Ingredients
Crust:
- 2 cups flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup cold butter, cubed
- ¼ cup ice water
Filling:
- 4 pears, peeled, cored, sliced
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp chai spice blend
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp ground cardamom
Crumble Topping:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ½ cup chopped almonds
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup butter, melted
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Add ice water gradually until dough comes together. Shape into a disk, wrap, and chill 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, toss sliced pears with brown sugar, flour, chai spice, ginger, and cardamom.
- In another bowl, mix oats, almonds, brown sugar, and melted butter for the crumble.
- Roll out dough into a 12‑inch circle. Place in a 9‑inch tart pan and press into edges. Trim excess.
- Add pear filling to the crust. Sprinkle crumble topping over the pears.
- Bake at 375°F for 40–50 minutes, or until crust is golden and filling is bubbling.
