French Apple Invisible Cake

Ingredients

  • 4–5 medium apples 
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a loaf pan or cake pan.
  2. Peel, core, and slice apples very thin (almost paper-thin).

Make batter:

  1. In a bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla, and salt.
  2. Add flour and mix until smooth.

Combine:

  1. Gently fold apple slices into the batter until well coated.

Bake:

  1. Pour mixture into the greased pan. Press apples down to flatten.
  2. Bake 45–50 minutes until golden and set.
  3. Cool completely before slicing.

Optional: dust with powdered sugar.
