Spicy Honey Pickled Cabbage
Ingredients
- 1 medium head of cabbage, shredded
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine shredded cabbage and salt. Let sit 30 minutes to wilt.
- In a saucepan, combine honey, apple cider vinegar, water, red pepper flakes, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Pour mixture over wilted cabbage and mix well.
- Transfer to a jar, seal tightly, and refrigerate for 24 hours before serving.
- Keeps for up to 2 weeks. Great on tacos or sandwiches.
