Papaya Cream Cake
Ingredients
Papaya Filling
- 3 cups papaya, peeled, deseeded, diced
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp fresh lime juice
Cream Layer
- 8 oz softened cream cheese
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
Topping
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- ½ cup melted butter
Instructions
- Cook papaya, sugar, and cornstarch in a saucepan over medium heat until thick and glossy (5–7 minutes). Add lime juice and cool slightly.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth, then add condensed milk, vanilla, and egg. Mix until silky.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 pan.
- Spread papaya filling across the bottom. Pour cream mixture over it.
- Sprinkle dry cake mix on top and drizzle with melted butter.
- Bake 40–50 minutes until golden and set. Cool 15 minutes before slicing.
