Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 5 bananas
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 ½ – 2 cups flour (use judgment)
  • Optional: chocolate chips or peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth. Let sit for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Stir in melted butter, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla.
  4. Add baking soda and salt, and mix again.
  5. Add flour and gently stir just until combined—don’t overmix.
  6. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool slightly before slicing.
