Ingredients
- 2 cups all‑purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Stir in the orange zest, then gradually mix in the dry ingredients until the dough just comes together.
- Scoop tablespoon‑sized portions of dough onto a parchment‑lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool on a wire rack before serving.
