Creamsicle Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all‑purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Stir in the orange zest, then gradually mix in the dry ingredients until the dough just comes together.
  6. Scoop tablespoon‑sized portions of dough onto a parchment‑lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cookies cool on a wire rack before serving.
