Apple Cinnamon Scones
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 apple, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
- ½ cup butter, cold and cubed
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fingertips until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients. Add to the dry mixture and stir until combined.
- Fold in the chopped apple.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently.
- Pat into a 1‑inch‑thick circle and cut into 8 wedges.
- Place on baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
